Uses of Gum Damar

In the 19th century, Damar was an important commodity for Indonesia because it was exported to Europe for use in the paper and paint industries.
Currently, Gum Damar  is used as a basic industrial material because of the properties of damar such as being waterproof, elastic, shiny and containing resin.
Damar resin is used for industrial ink, paint and varnish materials which make the paint more durable and shiny because of the properties of the damar.
For the paper industry, damar also makes paper stronger, waterproof and definitely shiny.
Gum damar also used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) dan traditional Indian medicine. 
When burned, gum damar will give off a distinctive, refreshing aroma which can make you more relaxed.
